Comedian extraordinaire Skhumba Hlophe candidly talks about how his cousin was shot by a fellow student after an argument. This led to his cousin being paralysed from the neck down. This story amongst others, is what made Skhumba aware the plight of people living with disabilities, who do not have access to wheelchairs.
During one of his radio shows, he did a skit about a guy on a wheelchair. It was after this skit that he decided to make a difference. He decided to do a one-man-show and buy wheelchairs with the proceeds of the show. The show was sold out and as they say…the rest is history.
Skhumba sat down with one of our journalists, and in true Skhumba style (and lingo) the comedian shared his story.
